Who is Mustang Martech?

I tame wild martech stacks so AI agents actually work.

I've been taming wild databases for 18 years.  If your automations are held together with duct tape, your data looks like a tangled bundle of Christmas lights, or your CMO can’t report on marketing’s contribution to pipeline, I’m your girl.

The best and worst thing about marketing technology is how rapidly it keeps changing.  Inbound, Outbound, ABM, Attribution, and now AI. Agents are being turned loose on tech stacks that weren't built for them. If your data is wild, your agents will be even wilder.  Agents trained in chaos will produce exactly the results you'd expect: hallucinations, incorrect data, and presumptive recommendations. Not to mention naming conventions that make you cringe.

That's where I come in.

What I believe about  AI in marketing operations

  • An AI agent is only as smart as the data and workflows feeding it. Fix the foundation first, or the agent will just help you fail faster.

  • Clean naming, documented processes, and a sane folder structure aren't boring — they're the reason your agents behave. Chaos in, chaos out.

  • The teams winning with AI right now aren't the ones with the biggest budgets. They're the ones whose data was already tamed before the agents showed up.

  • Having AI at your fingertips isn’t a flex - every platform has it now. The real flex is knowing how to make it behave. Guide your agents, before they start guiding you.

How I work

I'm a consultant, not an agency. When you hire Mustang MarTech, you hire me. I don’t outsource to a junior specialist, or send a Virtual Assistant to your Zoom meeting. I do leverage AI to be as efficient and effective as possible, but my favorite clients make me a part of their entire team.  I only take clients on a first come, first serve basis, which means sometimes I have a wait list.

If you're staring down an AI rollout wondering how any of this is supposed to work — let's talk.

A little bit about me

I'm Courtney McAra and I currently live in Portland, Oregon. After undergrad degree in Marketing, an MBA in Supply Chain Management, and 18 years in the marketing operations industry, I still get genuinely excited about a well-structured naming convention.

In 2020 Grant Grigorian and I co-founded the Society of MarTech Consultants, which I currently run as an exclusive Chapter within the MarketingOps.com Community.  It’s a safe-space for Consultants to talk shop about how to run a small business, taxes, payroll, retirement, health insurance, client management, and the cyclical nature of the consulting income.

And yes, I do ride horses so the Mustang name isn’t all for show.  Unfortunately, she’s not a Mustang but she’s an adorable Canadian mare named Jessica Rabbit.
